Jakarta – Pada tanggal 15 – 16 Maret 2023 Masih dalam rangkaian menyambut puncak acara HUT BL ke 44 Tahun. Himahi Universitas Budi Luhur menyelenggarakan acara Wasta Nusantara Exhibition batik dan tenun baduy, tepatnya di Auditorium Graha Mahardika Bujana. Acara ini mengangkat tema Melukis Indonesia Memperteguh Kebudayaan.
Beberapa rangkaian acaranya ialah fashion show batik sekaligus pengenalan busana karya Indonesia Fashion Desainer yaitu Nanang Sharna yang biasa dipanggil eyang.
Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan workshop mengenai sejarah dan perkembangan batik hingga makna setiap motifnya yang dipaparkan oleh Bapak Agus Purwanto selaku pendiri dari Batik 3 Putro Cirebon. Dan workshop mengenai sejarah tenun baduy dan perkembangannya yang dipaparkan oleh Bapak Don Hasman selaku fotografer senior yang berfokus pada bidang etnografi terkhususnya pada budaya Baduy.
Selain itu terdapat bazar makanan oleh ibu – ibu PKK dari berbagai daerah yang terletak di lapangan Universitas Budi Luhur.
Di depan unit 6 juga terdapat lomba membatik oleh para mahasiswa dan siswa SMP, SMA/SMK sederajat.
Pada hari kedua. Diselenggarakannya lomba mewarnai batik oleh anak Paud dan TK dari berbagai daerah sekitar Universitas Budi Luhur.
Pada sore hari, di hari pertama terdapat lomba fashion show yang dilaksanakan di lapangan Universitas Budi Luhur dan diikuti oleh para anak SMK, Mahasiswa, hingga ibu-ibu PKK. Selain itu, juga terdapat berbagai lomba video tiktok, fotografer, dan desain mengenai acara Wastra Nusantara Exhibition 2023.
Pada malam hari di hari kedua Himahi menyelenggarakan awarding night untuk mengumumkan juara-juara pengikut beberapa lomba tersebut dan memberikan sertifikat penghargaan untuk para pembicara serta tamu undangan sebagai bentuk terimakasih.
Antusiasme mahasiswa, dosen, dan masyarakat luar terhadap acara ini sangat menyenangkan sekali. Selain acara yang mengedukasi untuk tidak melupakan budaya tradisional terkhususnya batik dan tenun, juga menginspirasi anak muda untuk tidak malu dan bangga dalam mengenakan batik tradisional.
